Inside the most beautiful pagoda of the world in Hanoi


Tran Quoc Pagoda is located on the East Island of West Lake, has just been listed by Thrillist in the list of the most beautiful temple in the world.



Tran Quoc Pagoda is located on Thanh Nien Street (Ba Dinh, Hanoi). The pagoda is composed of several layers of houses with three main ones.



The original name was Khai Quoc. After many renaming, Tran Quoc Pagoda was known by people from King Le Hy Tong to date.


With a history of 1,500 years, the temple was the Buddhist center of the Thang Long citadel in the Ly and Tran dynasties.


Tran Quoc Pagoda is often the place where kings go to visit and worship on the full moon, & Tet holiday.



In 2003, the pagoda held the inauguration of the 15-meter high lotus tower with 11 floors and decorated 66 statues of Amitabha Buddha. At the top of the tower there is a stone statue of the Lotus Relic.

The pagoda also preserves many statues of Buddha, Bodhisattva valuable art, notably the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni Buddha Nibbana wood gold.


The temple currently holds 14 stelaes.



The pagoda was given by the Indian President when he visited the pagoda on March 24, 1959.


Visitors can also pray for Buddhist and also discover the fine art.


The old mosaic tiles and the lines carved on the window help visitors feel light calm when the scene of the temple.


The pagoda was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as the National Cultural Historical Site in 1962. Every year, it hosts many Buddhist followers, but also attracts domestic & foreign visitors.
