Explore the journey Hue - Danang - Hoi An by motorcycle

Discovering the beauty of Hue - Danang - Hoi An by motorbike is a great experience that the German blogger has been experiencing. How about you? Want to try it?

The perfect trip from Hue to Da Nang and Hoi An

My trip started in Hue. After renting a nice motorcycle at a friendly shop in Hue, we had a great plan to move from Hue to Danang and then to Hoi An. The first section is quite interesting, as we can go through many famous tombs of Hue. Next, we drove down to a fairly new highway, where there were a lot of vehicles on the road. From the beginning of the journey, it was raining heavily, but with the raincoat riding a typical Vietnamese motorcycle, the rain did not make it hard for us.

The attraction on the road to Danang is the Hai Van pass, which is also known as the romantic Cloud Pass - is considered one of the best coastal road in the world. Hai Van Pass is the boundary between the northern and southern climates of Vietnam, with its winding streets, with a bit of fog that makes the scenery look great.

Get started by climbing up the pass!

We were lucky enough to reach the pass as well as the rain had stopped, we also accidentally witnessed the scene of the North-South railway is running. If you do not have the courage to ride a motorbike here, you can choose to take the bus, but the bus will go through the tunnel rather than passing through the pass, so you can not see the great scenery of the Hai Van Pass.

If you go by car through the tunnel, you will not be able to admire this wonderful image.

Surprised by the beauty of Danang

Danang in my opinion is probably one of the most beautiful cities in Vietnam, but many foreign tourists seems not to appreciate the beauty of it. Most people only spend one night in Danang, or go straight from Hue to Hoi An. We spent two nights in Da Nang, and even drove back here after a night of rest in Hoi An. That proves one thing, here with us is a special destination.

The city is not as vibrant as Saigon and Hanoi, but this will be a place where there is a boom in the future of Vietnam. Danang has a lot of good cafes, gourmet restaurants are nicely decorated and the variety of street food. An impressive street of Danang is Nguyen Van Thoai Street, which is often bustling with local food outlets every evening. Chicken and chicken wings served with cold beer here can only say delicious. It is easy to understand why this road has become a favorite destination for locals, and of course I am.

Dragon Bridge - a typical architecture of Danang.

Danang is also a great city to see at night, you will be surprised by the modern light system, which is illuminated nightly on the bridge Han River. A great destination for photographers, want to "hunt" for his shimmering photos. The Dragon Bridge across the Han River is one of the buildings that impressed me, the bridge was built in the shape of a huge dragon, it not only change the color at night but also can spray fire half. I sit here for hours, just to see the bridge. I guess I'll come back here in a the near future.

The beautiful beach is also one of the highlights for the beauty of Danang. At the beach you will be satisfied surfing.

Hoi An - Ancient Town has a wonderful attraction

Just 30km from Danang, Hoi An is our next stop. Before coming to Hoi An, on our route we have to go through a mountain called Ngu Hanh Son. Climbing to this mountain, you will discover many unique caves and impressive Buddhist temples. Climbing to the top of this mountain, you will be able to view the beautiful beaches of Danang.

When we arrived in Hoi An, this place made us very surprised by its ancient beauty. Unlike Danang is a modern and bustling city, Hoi An is just a small but picturesque town with small shops along the roads, and always crowded with tourists.

Hoi An - A picturesque old town

In Hoi An, you have a lot of great choices to take a break from the ancient style cafes, bars and popular hotels to 5 star resorts. That said, Hoi An is managed very well to be able to preserve its own unique charm.

The beauty of Hoi An

At night, the Old Quarter is lit by paper lanterns. Especially if you come here on the full moon, you will see the image of the Thu Bon River will be lit by colorful lights. The cuisine of Hoi An is also a reason for us to love this old town, remember to enjoy all the delicious local specialties if you visit here.

Last thoughts ...

Our motorbike travel experience from Hue to Danang and to Hoi An was a great experience, although we also suffered a lot of heavy rain. Traveling by motorbike is always my favorite choice, in all types of transport, it gives me freedom and creates more of my most memorable souvenirs. And you know, Vietnam is a perfect place to travel by motorbike.

My favorite place on this trip is Danang, a great surprise. At first we were not so impressed with the place, but the tourist atmosphere with the beauty and freshness of the city charmed me, and I even wanted to stay in this city longer. Because of the sudden love with this land, I guess I have more reasons to come back ...
