One-Pilar Pagoda at 50 years old in Saigon
The half-century Saigon pagoda was built in the style of One Pillar Pagoda in Hanoi, attracting many visitors.
The Nam Thien Nhat Tru Pagoda - One Pillar Pagoda was built in 1958 by the Most Venerable Thich Tri Dung. The pagoda is about one hectare, located on Dang Van Bi street, Thu Duc district, Ho Chi Minh City.
Right from the entrance is the image of the small temple in the middle of the lake with the shape of a One Pillar Pagoda in Hanoi. Since the construction, the abbot has adapted the architecture, style of the temple was Ly Dynasty XI century.
The pagoda is located on a 12 meter high column between the square lake. One-Pillar Pagoda in Saigon is cast in solid steel with reinforced cement.
Around the pagoda is a lake named Long Label (dragon eye) with an area of about 600 m2. The temple in the middle is shaped like a large lotus bud rise up with lines delicate pattern.
The one-pillar pagoda in Saigon has a gabled roof structure, roofs of which are decorated like pagodas of the same name in Hanoi but different in material.
Nam Thien Nhat Tru is made of concrete, reinforced, and the temple in Hanoi made of ironwood. One Pillar Pagoda of Saigon is also smaller and smaller than the pagoda in the capital, but still preserves the ancient pagoda architecture of the North with the image of dragon phoenix in the corner of the roof of the curved roof.
Behind the pagoda is the main hall with the words "Nam Thien Quoc". Around the main hall is a bonsai garden, there are hundreds of years old trees.
The main hall is decorated with a three-room structure, between the worship of Shakyamuni Buddha, two time worshiping Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and Bodhisattva Bodhisattva.

Every day, the pagoda welcomes many people, tourists to visit, worship. "At first heard in Saigon One Pillar Pagoda I thought is a joke, but when visiting and see the temple is very beautiful and dignified," said Thanh Lan (Dong Nai).
