8. Admire the largest whale skeleton in Vietnam

Phu Quy has nearly 30 cultural relics with different types of beliefs. However, the most prominent is Van An Thanh (belonging to Trieu Duong village, Tam Thanh commune) built in 1781 and a "museum" of whales on the island. According to the legend of the local people, the whale, also known as fish, has helped many fishermen and boats during typhons. Many fishermen have been saved by the whale on the island, and most of local people respect the whale. Therefore, when the fish died and washed to the coast of Phu Quy, local people organize solemnly, and every year the festival is held Nghinh Ong. 9. Visit the giant windmill

"Wind power" is the wind blowers were built to create electricity to serve the people on the island. On the island there are 3 trees blowing, each tree is 60m high, and the length of the propeller is 37m. From the lighthouse and the summit of Linh Son Pagoda you can easily see these huge wind fans. Especially, the way out to visit the fan is very beautiful, one side is the sea, the other is the rows planted along the road looks beautiful.

10. View the landscape from the largest lighthouse in Vietnam

The terrain on the island is quite flat, with no high mountains so the Phu Quy lighthouse on the top of Cam mountain is the highest point on the island. To atteint the lighthouse, visitors have to walk, climb mountains with more than 120 stone steps along the mountain side, about 200m long and have slippery slopes. Although climbing is so tired, but up to there you will feel completely worthy: on the lighthouse you will have panoramic view of the island from above, and see the busy fishing boats on the sea. Especially, on the way to the lighthouse you will also encounter Linh Buu Pagoda, the campus of the temple is very spacious and airy, there are hammocks for guests to rest.

How to get to Phu Quy island?The only way to get to the island is to go to Phan Thiet's harbor and take the boat to Phu Quy. Previously, tourists had to spend 6 hours on board Binh Thuan 16 or Binh Thuan 18 to get to the island. However, now there are Hung Phat 26 speed train and SAVANNA Phu Quy - Khai Thinh KG high speed boat, which helps shorten the distance from Phan Thiet to the island only 3.5 hours for medium speed boat and 2.5 hours for high speed boat. It is important to note boats don't operate daily, so before you go you should contact the port to see the boat schedule.
