Discover Hanoi in three day.

Discover Hanoi in three day.

Hanoi is an attractive tourist destination with many unique cultural and culinary features. But to be able to find out all that on a short trip is a real challenge. Let's take a look at the full discovery schedule of Hanoi in just 3 short days.

DAY 1: ANCIENT CITY TOUR

Hanoi Old Quarter is a great place to walk and watch the bustling life, without any confusion. This is also a great place to start your trip, just choose the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake as a landmark, from here you can discover Hanoi without missing anything. To be able to explore all this area, you need 4 to 5 hours at the best, so start early.

If you are a fan of coffee, stop by and sample Hanoi coffee, especially weasel coffee with a characteristic flavor. One tip is to not go into the luxury cafes with air conditioning and armchairs, stop by the coffee shops on the roadside to feel the coffee taste in the way that Hanoi people do.

Another thing you can do in this area is to enjoy water puppet theater at Thang Long Theater - a cultural feature of Vietnam that was formed 1000 years ago. Note that these elaborate water puppet shows always attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, so if you want to get good seats, book in advance.

Hanoi is a famous place for street food, and fortunately, most of the attractive snacks here are in the Old Quarter and around Hoan Kiem Lake. If you are not too serious about food hygiene, and are passionate about understanding the local culture, you can go to any small restaurant here, and sample Hanoi's quintessence for less than 20,000 VND.

DAY 2: HISTORY JOURNEY

If the first day you just got acquainted with Hanoi, then today you will learn the unique points in its history of thousands of years of civilization. A very convenient thing is that most of these famous places are located near the central area of Hanoi, so you can easily walk here, or go by cyclo if you want.

Ngoc Son Temple is a great place to start your journey today. You can take a walk around the lake, just enjoy the fresh air of the early morning, and take some photos as a souvenir. If you have time, visit the temple and see the giant turtle preserved in the temple - a part of the history of Hoan Kiem Lake.

You can also visit the Hoa Lo Prison, home to American pilots until after the Paris Accords of 1973, so American pilots even sarcastically call this place "Hilton Hanoi". Today, Hoa Lo has only a small area for visitors, the remaining area is used to build a commercial building called Hanoi Tower.

Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam is the iconic complex of relics of Hanoi City, located in the south of Thang Long Citadel. Currently, this place has been included in the list of 23 special national monuments by the Prime Minister of Vietnam.

The Vietnam Military Museum is one of the "tourist attractions". People who come here often think that they will see things of the Vietnamese Army, but will see more American military weapons than those of Vietnam. It only takes about 25 to 30 minutes to walk from the Temple of Literature to the Vietnam Military Museum and must pass a great distance.

Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, also known as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, is the place where Ho Chi Minh's body is conserved. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum was officially started on September 2, 1973, at the location of the old ritual between Ba Dinh Square, where he once hosted major meetings. In addition, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is also a place that can take pictures freely with the uniform of Vietnamese Army soldiers.

DAY 3: EATING AND SHOPPING

With only two day schedule, you have visited and captured a huge piece of Hanoi's culture. Of course, you can continue to visit other relics today, but spending this last day to eat and shop will be much more interesting. Here are tips for you.

Everything here can bargain. That is the first thing you should know when shopping here. Maybe in your place, the items are sold at the fix price, and you can buy them if the price is satisfactory, not in Hanoi. The seller here does not sell the price equal to the value of the item, but based on how they value their customers. It means that if you look luxurious, or go with Western guests, they will get a very expensive price.

Therefore, it is best for you to go with a Hanoi person, or at least a person who can speak Hanoi to be able to bargain, because the "chopping - knife price" is not only "reserved" for the guests, foreigners, but also for people from other places, Saigonese for example. Having a person who understands Hanoi culture also helps you know what to buy and what to eat to capture the culture of Hanoi.

Sometimes you need to consult the selling price between stores, because with the same item, sometimes two different shops sell at very, very different prices. You should also be prepared to think that, please frankly turn away if you feel the price of the shop owner is too "harsh" and cannot negotiate, even though doing this will be the owner of that shop quite offended.

To understand Hanoi with only 3 days is too short, but with this schedule, you also partly understand the charm of this country, enough to remember and want to return for the second time. If there is more time in the future, make sure you go to discover Hanoi.
