Pongour falls through seven layers of rock are a stop for travelers wanting to escape summer heat in the plateau.

Pongour or Seven Level cascade. The waterfall is located in Tan Hoi commune, Duc Trong district, about 50 km south of Da Lat city center. The waterfall flows through seven layers of rock. Thanks to wild beauty and majestic, King Bao Dai waterfall is the most beautiful Southern Waterfall.

This 40m high waterfall is situated in the middle of a primeval forest with an area of ​​2.5 hectares with a rich and diverse vegetation. At present, the waterfall is not so much water due to hydropower, but thanks to the width of about 100 m, the stream still forms beautiful scenery.

Pongour is a French word for the K'ho native, meaning "boss of the white clay". According to French geological records, this area also has many kaolin, a kind of white clay, and by the fire.

According to the legend of the K'ho, this land was once a beautiful female head of governance. She named Kanai. Thanks to the conquest of beasts, she helped people cultivate and live. Legend has it, four rhinos usually obey her, along the stream, clearing the field and protect the villagers.

On a full day of spring, Kanai finally breathed. As mournful, the four rhinos around her day and night do not leave to death. Not long afterwards, this place formed a waterfall, which is also the Pongour waterfall today.

People also told each other that the main waterfall is the head of the prison. The water is as green and cool as Kanai's life. The large stone slabs for the waterfall are the horn of four rhinos. This is a symbol of unity, eternal bond between people and nature that local people believe.

What makes visitors interested in the waterfall is the level of flat stones layered. But not in any order, the water is still "tear" into hundreds of small lines of white foam.

Dalat city is quite far, Pongour waterfall still attracts domestic and foreign tourists to find. Many people often camp and stay in a nearby valley.

To get here, you can ride along Highway 20, direction Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh City, then turn right hand about 8km from the neighborhood Chai. Or on the way from Ho Chi Minh City to Dalat, visitors can also stop at km 260, then turn right and go straight about 8 km to arrive.

The ideal time to come here is the rainy season from June to November each year, at this time the water is richer. You should also be careful when traveling in the rainy season, slippery roads and should not bathe waterfall. Admission fee for adults is VND 10,000 and children is VND 5,000 per visit.
