Visitors and residents can visualize the transformation of the city through images from 1799 to 1922.



From Nov. 30 to Dec. 9,  2018, Nguyen Van Binh street (District 1, HCMC) will exhibit Saigon through ancient maps and panoramas. The event featured 15 old maps (both print and hand-drawn) from 1799 to 1922.



The oldest is the map of Saigon in 1799 with detailed drawings of the citadel of the bowl, the notes of the king's palace, infirmary, gunpowder, parade square ...



Original maps of French fighting in Saigon from 1859 to 1863 were first published.



The image of Saigon in 1881 on the map was made by Mr. Farvre - the captain of the Marines. At this time, Notre Dame Cathedral was completed, right in the center of the city.



The map of Saigon in 1878 was painted in color, at which time the French occupied and gradually re-planned the city. At this point, there appeared agencies such as the governor's government (now Tran Dai Nghia school), the residence of the French, the Department of the road, the stock exchange, the officer's club ...
