Street vendors on bicycle impressed in Hanoi a Dutch woman
Loes Heerink, the Dutch photographer, waits for hours on the bridge to light the moment the street vendors come. They will be present in her upcoming photo book.
Having lived in Hanoi for four years, Loes Heerink says street vendors have given her the inspiration to make a picture book when she arrives in Vietnam.
The last photo of the florist was taken from the bridge over Loes, before returning to the Netherlands for two months. Loes said that when she was here, she spent a lot of time on the bridge waiting for the cars to pass underneath.
The reason she chooses this angle is that she wants the picture to appear on a streetcar without being tangled by other details.
"I want people to see what I see. I believe street vendors make art pieces every day, "she said.
Loes's photographs are taken at various points in the city, such as from the balcony of a restaurant in the Old Town, or from bridges.
Sometimes she has to get up very early, waiting for the street vendor to pass. But sometimes she took advantage of the lunch or the weekend to "hunt" moments from street vendors.
"Sometimes I wait 5 hours but still can not take any pictures," Loes said.
Loes also takes the time to talk to the sales people. They share with her about their livelihood by selling fruit, vegetables and other things on their bicycles.
She is planning to return to Vietnam to continue her photo book on street vendors. Loes also set up Kickstarter to raise funds for the project. It is expected that the photo book about street vendors will include 100 paintings.
