Discover a beautiful ancient pagoda in Hanoi: Tay Phuong Pagoda


Located on Tay Phuong mountain, Yen village, Thach Xa commune, Thach That district, Hanoi, Tay Phuong Pagoda (Sung Phuc Tu) is a unique temple with many valuable Buddhist statues. Especially Tay Phuong pagoda is very special with soaring curved corner to attract tourists.


In 1632, in the reign of King Le Than Tong, the temple building 3 spans and harem with 20 corridors.


In 1794, under the Tây Son Dynasty, the pagoda was completely overhauled with the new name of Western Co Tu and the shape of the architecture left as it is today.


The pagoda is built in the Tam-style architecture with three levels along the mountain side, based on the mountain from low to high into three parallel temples including pagodas: Lower Pagoda, Trung Pagoda, Thuong Pagoda. Each court has its own architecture but incorporates a population.

Tay Phuong Pagoda consists of three folds parallel houses: Bai road, main electricity and harem.
